GIVE: MENTORING

Give the gift of personalised guidance with a 60 minute 1-2-1 session with one of our mentors, who can offer support with DJing, production and navigating the music industry. 

Engaging with a music tech mentor is a great way to get the critical input needed to achieve continued growth and learning. There are all sorts of ways our mentors can support, such as offering practical help with tightening skills, advice around personal development or strategic input into goal-setting and career planning.

Mentoring sessions are open to people of all genders worldwide, and can take place virtually or in person, depending on where you’re based. 

You will be emailed a gift card after purchase, containing instructions for redeeming the mentoring session, which will be valid for up to 6 months.

Saffron Members Club is an online community and learning platform, which aims to connect and educate people in aspects of music production, sound engineering, DJing and music business. An annual Sustainer-tier Saffron Membership offers:

Victoria Topping is an artist and illustrator who has held solo exhibitions across the UK and Europe including shows in London, Barcelona, Strasbourg, Ibiza and Bristol. With an ever-evolving creative practice that fuses digital and traditional techniques, Victoria has created a distinct visual language in her work, incorporating vivid colour, bold forms and recurring motifs. 

In 2019 Victoria illustrated her first book, Mythologica, which was awarded children’s non-fiction book of the year on Amazon. She is Artistic Director for On the Corner Records, an award winning independent record label based in London. Victoria currently lives and works in Bath, South West England.

Give a little groove and support a Saffron artist with a high-quality download of Marla Kether’s EP ‘All That We Have’, plus unlimited mobile access via the Bandcamp app.

Exceeding 30 million Spotify streams as a session bassist for the likes of Yazmin Lacey, Oscar Jerome and Obongjayar, Marla now has 5 brilliant global dancefloor tracks rolling out in her own right. Adept in collaboration, and a skillful bassist, the EP is a culmination of a year-long release campaign, with an array of featured artists including K.O.G, Plumm, Solomon O.B and more.

At the heart of this EP, Marla melds soulful intentions with dancefloor inspired grooves. She builds a soundworld that teems with a vibrant effervescence, with a core focus on the live feeling of everything. The tracks serve as a melting pot of the various regions, diasporas, and musical traditions she is connected to through community, heritage and her musical expression. This spans Afro house and Congolese soukous on ‘In My Corner’, the suave blend of jazz and electronica on ‘BTR2’, the house rhythms of ‘Revolve’, which features live Brazilian percussion, the spoken word and dub electronic blend on ‘Juvenile Masculine’. In addition to, of course, the EP’s title track; a fusion of Latin house and MPB (Música Popular Brasileira) featuring acclaimed jazz:refreshed vocalist Sofia Grant.
