Marla Kether releases debut single “Revolve” on Saffron Records
Bassist, DJ and producer, Marla Kether lays down her musical gauntlet in the first of five global dancefloor tracks.
We’re delighted to announce that one of the graduates of our 2021-22 Artist Development programme, Marla Kether, is releasing her debut single “Revolve” on Saffron Records.
Out on February 22nd, “Revolve” is a feel-good dancefloor banger that will go down a treat with fans of Peggy Gou, I. Jordan, Jayda G, and Joy Orbison.
A unique blend of live samba percussion, Theo Parrish-style deep house groove, driving basslines and diva vocals from Brownswood’s Plumm, it is the first of 5 global dancefloor tracks that will be dropping this year – leading to Marla’s highly-anticipated EP in Autumn 2023.
London-born to Congolese parents, Marla Kether has cut her musical teeth as a session bassist with Yazmin Lacey, Oscar Jerome, and Obongjayar. Marla is now taking centre stage and establishing herself as a solo artist for the first time, since starting to produce music in lockdown 2020, fuelled by a desire to use the time away from touring to develop her own musical identity.
Marla will be playing some of the UK/Europe’s biggest venues this year as bassist for Loyle Carner. During this time she will also be playing her own solo DJ gigs and live band shows and is being hotly tipped for Glastonbury.
