Joni
Joni is a producer, DJ, technologist and tutor based in the East Midlands. Under the alias Outsider, she’s become known for a bass-heavy, hi-tech flavour of genre bending techno through releases on All Centre, Pressure Dome and Tropopause Records. Discovering a passion for teaching after becoming a tutor for Mix Nights in Nottingham, she has since expanded her practice to include tuition and creative development, and has delivered production workshops online and in person on behalf of Saffron, Ableton and All Centre. They are also a keen user of Max/MSP, whether designing synthesisers and exploring generative sequencing in their own music or commercially releasing Max for Live devices for others to download and use in Ableton. In all aspects of her creative life, Joni is interested in pushing past familiar ideas to discover new possibilities and drive the conversation forward.
