Saffron For Sound: Music Production Course

Saffron For Sound: Music Production Course

March 8, 2021, 7:00pm

Online

This 6-session course is an introduction to music production using Ableton Live software. It is intended for total beginners with no prior experience using Ableton. The aim of the course is to show you the tools, tips and tricks to begin producing your own music at a foundation level. The sessions will take place over Zoom and will comprise a maximum class size of 25.

Course tutor Emmavie is a singer, songwriter and producer whose debut album Honeymoon was released in 2019 on the Fresh Selects label. Emmavie's own music sits in a unique intersection between modern soul, hiphop and r&b and has seen her collaborate with the likes of Alfa Mist and Jazzy Jeff. She is also an experienced production tutor and workshop host and Saffron are thrilled to be working with Emmavie again!

COURSE CONTENT:
The course will begin with a comprehensive introduction to getting started in Ableton Live, showing you how to set up your session and use all of the essential functions. Once we’re confident we know how to get around the program, we will learn some basic music theories and begin to practice the core music production principles; composing ideas, recording, editing and arranging. As we progress, we will look at more advanced production practices such as sampling, warping, audio effects and reverse engineering.
Throughout the course, there will be a big emphasis on jargon busting - learning the language of music production. This is an opportunity to have all of your music questions answered. By the end of the course, we hope that each participant will be well on their way to having made their first piece of produced music.

DATES:
The course takes place on Mondays, 7-9pm GMT on:
08 March, 15 March, 22 March, 29 March, 05 April, 12 April

COST & ELIGIBILITY:
You must identify as a woman, non-binary, or otherwise gender non-conforming and be aged 16 or over to attend.

Book now: www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/saffron-16642980023
