Saffron Members x Downtown: Bursary Scheme

Saffron Members Club offers year-round tools and opportunities for women, trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming people to connect, learn and grow in music tech. Centering around an online community platform and monthly zoom workshops, the club comprises more than 300 members worldwide, sitting across 17 countries and 53 cities.

Three membership tiers, starting from less than £6 per month, are available to purchase for those looking to invest in their development whilst supporting Saffron’s wider work in the industry. However, we never want finances to be a barrier to people getting involved in music tech, which is why we’ve partnered with global music services company, Downtown to offer 50 x annual subscriptions to Saffron Members Club free of charge.

What does a Saffron Membership Include?

Successful applicants to the Downtown Bursary Programme will receive a 12-month sustainer subscription to the Saffron Members community including:

• Access to the Saffron Members platform, members directory and discussion threads accessible via the web or an Android/iOS app
• 3 x online workshops per month exploring different aspects of music production, DJing and music business
• Saffron Studios music production tutorial videos presented by Ableton certified trainer Pops Robers
• Discounts on brands including: Ableton, Pirate Studios, Spitfire Audio, Teenage Engineering, Samples from Mars and more
• A members newsletter including Saffron’s community and cultural highlights, sounds, reads, podcasts and more from the past month

Who is eligible to apply for a bursary membership?

To be eligible for this opportunity you must be:

• A woman, trans, non-binary or gender non-conforming person
• Age 18+ (there is no maximum age limit)
• In a position of financial hardship i.e. struggling to meet your basic needs (and those of your family) due to low income / unemployment / underemployment / significant debt / lack of access to savings
