COMMUNITY LISTENING & TRACK FEEDBACK
For our June Tech Dissect workshop, we’ll be coming together as a community for an online listening session, in which we’ll be sharing music and practising how to give and receive feedback.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We’ll begin with a short meditation and some guidance around the feedback process, before listening to to the submissions.
We understand that sharing your work can be a vulnerable process, and we aim to create a space rooted in consideration and care. Though nerve-wracking, getting constructive feedback in a supportive setting can help bring your tracks in line with industry standards and bolster you as you move towards finishing and releasing your music.
If you would like to submit a track for inclusion in the session, please email members@saffronmusic.co.uk with a Soundcloud, Mixcloud, Google drive or Dropbox link by 16th June. If you are a non-member, please also include a screenshot of your ticket booking.
We will aim to spotlight as many submissions as possible during the session, attributing equal time to each. If we have more submissions than time allows for, please don’t be disheartened if we don’t get round to yours – there will be more opportunities in the future.
Equally, if you would like to join and simply listen, you are most welcome. We hope that everyone will get something out of the session, be it some new tips and tricks, enhanced active listening skills or some new community connections.
We recommend joining the session live and submitting as early as possible to increase your chances of being featured.
ACCESSIBILITY
Workshops are open to people worldwide, but will be running at 7.30 pm GMT so please bear differences in time zone in mind.
We are committed to making our online events as accessible as possible. We have created a guidance document about this – Click here to view the accessibility document. Alternatively, please email us with any access requirements you may have: hello@saffronmusic.co.uk
GENDER POLICY
The gender imbalance in the music technology industry is well-recognised. While we are absolutely not ‘anti-men’, we see that a shorter-term solution is to provide fellowship and learning environments that are not dominated by the cisgender male perspective. Therefore, these workshops are intended for women, non-binary, trans and gender non-conforming people to attend. While we do not ban cisgender men from attending, we hope that they will respect that this event is not intended for them.
