Emerging Masterclasses: Remixing w/ Ikonika

17th November 2025

5-7 pm bst

£15 (with bursary spaces available)

As part of Saffron’s Emerging Artist Development project in Bristol, we are hosting three in-person workshops, offering music creators the opportunity to connect and learn alongside our 2025 programme participants.

Hosted by Saffron graduates and mentors, these sessions provide a space for women, trans and non-binary people to come together and expand practice, sharing in the support we offer, whilst thinking about your work within a wider musical ecosystem.

In a world where artistry is all too often approached as an individual pursuit, come along to cross-pollinate and contribute to each other’s growth.

WORKSHOP 3: REMIXING

In this workshop, Ikonika will focus on how they approach remixing, including their dos and don’ts, tips and tricks and how they add their signature sound to the process.

ABOUT IKONIKA

Ikonika is one of the most vital artists in UK electronic music. Emerging from the fertile grounds of London’s post-dubstep scene, they have carved out a singular space over two decades of boundary-pushing production and DJing. A long-time affiliate of the influential Hyperdub label, they’ve also released music on Night Slugs, Planet Mu, and Don’t Be Afraid (DBA). Their work spans grime, R&B, UK funky, techno, and experimental club sounds—always marked by a signature sense of melody, rhythm, and emotional depth.

As a DJ, Ikonika is known for their eclectic sets and fearless transitions—from industrial-edged club tracks to shimmering synth jams—appearing at major festivals and underground venues worldwide.

Beyond their solo work, Ikonika is a skilled collaborator and remixer, having worked with artists including Jessy Lanza, 45DiBoss, and Karen Nyame KG, and remixed the likes of Ewan McVicar, Jamilah Barry, Or:la (feat. Eliza Rose), and Steve Spacek.

If you would like to attend this workshop but cannot afford a ticket, please email us at hello@saffronmusic.co.uk to request a bursary space.

Saffron is part of the PRS Foundation’s Talent Development Partner Network and has been provided with funding to make this project happen.
