PERCUSSIVE TEXTURES IN CLUB TRACKS

Join Fiyahdred for an online workshop uncovering their approach to building percussive layers with bounce, skip and groove as the driving force behind club tracks. With a foundation in funky house, Fiyahdred’s sound spans amapiano, gqom, soca and afrohouse and they’ve released with Club Djembe, Future Bounce and Hyperdub. Learn how they craft their drums using Logic and Native Instrument’s Battery, to create percussive textures with soul and direction, including a dissection of their track “Anyway”.

The lead single ‘Anyway’, landed a place on Resident Advisors ‘Best Tracks of 2021’ . The aforementioned influences of UK Funky, [Afro] House, Dancehall & Hip-Hop are reflected throughout the whole EP and this project marks a significant milestone of their creative evolution, as well as overall confidence in their musical abilities. Over the course of 2022, FD has released singles on Rhythm Section, Club Djembe, Excess Bristol, Queer House Party & Goon-Club Allstars as well as self-releasing ‘Bottle Riddim’ at the start of the year.
